At Joans Gardens Challenge #7

Oval
Polka Dots
Vellum

The jury's still out on this one!  The dragonfly is embossed vellum, but on the top one I used black versamark, embossed with clear embossing powder.  The dragonfly is a beautiful stamp by Inkadinkadoo with rich detail.  The black, I thought was too black.  The dragonfly is colored with distress markers (Tim Holtz).   The background polka dot paper is from a paperpack by Colorbok and the sentiment is a digital stamp by Paulette.  The jeweled daisy is a Joleen's embelli, and the background paper for the  front of the card is from a digital kit by Karen Schulz, SnickerdoodleDesignsbyKaren, Dreamin of Daisies. The second dragonfly is inked with  Tim Holtz distress ink, (Peeled Paint) and then worked with styluses on the Pergamano board that I got at Joan's gardens. The black high detail Versafine versamark may work better on regular paper instead of vellum, but I haven't tried it.  Oval is Spellbinder's die, (Classic ovals) available at Joan's Gardens as well as the Distress Markers, and Distress inks by Tim Holtz (peeled paint) and various for the dragonfly colors. Leave a comment and tell me which one you like best, or what you would do with this dragonfly.

Beautiful cards, Priss... so detailed! I like them both, but probably prefer #2, simply because the butterfly offers a softer look there (less stark than the black). I love the journal/quote piece. This is a beautiful card - so much work! I love the use of the daisies here too.

  2. What a beautiful card. I prefer #2 as well because it fits with all the softness of the base of card. Love the background paper used it fits perfectly.

  3. Priss, I prefer #2 as well. So soft in color and detail, goes perfectly with the background paper. Love the sentiment as well.
