Cascading Mini Album

This project is meant to be an insert mini-album inside a larger folio.  I made it as a stand alone mini album using the tutorial shared by Ginger Ropp at My Sister's Scrapper
I have used material from the Graphic 45 Garden Goddess collection and coordinating  Bazzil cardstock.  The medallion is made with tiny flowers from the Tim Holtz Tiny Flowers thinlits dieset.

5D Diamond Painting Hummingbird

This is the "Carefree Hummingbird" available from 5D Diamond Paintings dot com.  Again you cannot begin to see the five faceted "diamonds" that mirror the light from all directions.  This is the first of two hummers I am going to do. I'm really enjoying this artform and playing with these little itty bitty diamonds.

Journey---Onward Pastor Gary

Wishing all things good and wonderful for our friends Gary and Ann Williams
who will be pastoring the Methodist Journey Fellowship in Maricopa, Arizona.

The musical note in the cutout was designed by Karen Schulz in her Music Transparencies. Four leaf clover and flowers are punched and purchased.

The inside sentiment reads

We are excited for your long-
awaited appointment, Gary.
The congregation at Journey
Fellowship is indeed blessed
to have you with them as they
grow, build & flourish.

Now, as the day dawns on the
next chapter in your life,
May Lord’s blessings be upon you
as you follow in His way,
May you find joy & peace
as He inspires you everyday

With great appreciation & love

Friendly Frolic

Or just say WILD (and crazy).   This is Simon Says Stamp exclusive background die, Friendly Frolic---white embossed on pink paper then cutouts colored with glitter pens and mounted on silver glimmer paper  The card is a 5" x 4.75" card.  It is cut with some of the Ornate background segments created for the stamp.  I found that these dies do not fit very well. This is one of the most difficult stamps and diesets I have used, and I think that this card is probably going nowhere!

Gatefold Open Work

This card was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's Interlocking Gatefold card design with an openwork interlocking cardfront.  I used the Alte-New Leaf frame and a stamp by Green Busiiness Design "Tea Flowers"  The flower is colored with shimmer watercolor paints.  The card base is Garden Green (SU)

Happy Re-retirement Rev Dr Lubach

This card is created for our wonderful "re-retiring" Pastor,  Rev Dr. Jim Lubach,
at Mesquite United Methodist Church
The inside sentiment reads:
We honor you for your tireless perseverance
in serving our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
As our shepherd, at MUMC, we Thank You for the compassion,
dedication and generosity you
have shared so lovingly with our congregation.
We thank you for your ministry, your guidance and your care.

May God bless and keep you and Kay
safely in His arms
as you enter your
retirement and step forward into
your
travel dreams and your world of tomorrow.
Congratulations on your retirement!
You are wonderful—and so loved.

This gorgeous stamp is by Waffle Flower and is called "Iris  You" Blue Irises symbolize faith and hope, why chosen for this card.  The  arrangement of irises  is stamped with Amalgum ink on watercolor paper.  They are colored with  Distress Oxide ink painted on the stamp, then overpainted with Yasumoto shimmer watercolors.  The artpiece is mounted on coordinating light blue top fold cardstock and edged with transparent glitter/gold stickers by Starform (#1004) available at Pop-Ups Etc.

First 5D Diamond Painting

This is my first try at 5d Diamond painting.  No photo can show how the facets of the "diamonds" sparkle in natural light.  I got my kit from 5D Diamonds paintings dot com, and like this particular company's packaging of all the materials you need and the special care given the canvas.  Shipping time is several weeks, and they do do custom canvases by special order.  I absolutely loved my many many years of cross stitching, but I can no longer hold a needle.  The diamonds are placed on sticky canvas that is "paint by number marked" and individual faceted acrylic tiles may be placed singly or in multiples.  All ready to go with the diamonds in little "tic tac boxes" on the second one now.  I will have this professionally framed, although many crafters in this genre do their own. I LOVE IT! AND LOVE this new Hobby Horse!  Below is a closer crop to show how the individual diamonds catch the light.  Since these diamonds have five facets, no matter how you look at the painting, something is reflecting the light and sparkling.  So pretty!

This Shape card was created with Spellbinder's Fold-a-Long Owl Label. (661138) and given to me by my sister thanking me for her Birthday Present this year.  I love how she used the wiggly eyes, and the gorgeous metallic paper and jewel elements on this Owl.  A great die and a beautiful project.  Thank you Betsy

Happy Independence Day

This card background was created in Photoshop using a patriotic burst of color by Karen Schulz in her kit "This is Me, June".  This card is made entirely with the Starform Celebrate Icons Stickers from Pop-Ups Etc  The insides of the stars on the main sticker are colored with glitter pens and white Posca pen.  The fireworks in the corner are also colored with the glitter pens.  I used dozens of the teeny stars in this very versatile sticker set.  It also contains champagne bottles corks and bubbles sparklers, additional fireworks and starburst and firecracker rockets.  Make fourth of July greetings POP this year with your stickers from Pop-Ups Etc.
NOTE:  Stickers (especially very detailed ones that you have to use transfer paper to position) DO NOT WORK WELL if you print a background on slick photo paper or Yupo.  Once down---you absolutely cannot get it up AND the transfer film has a tendency to leave residue on your project.  Suggest you always use matte paper when working with stickers.

Happy Birthday Kathy

Our Daughter is born under the sign of Cancer the Crab, and this card is created with Mitzi Sato Wiuff's adorable Cancer Sprite, part of her zodiac sprite series. She is colored with Prismacolor pencils. These digital images are available at Aurora Wings.
Astrostyle.com was the source for the inner text about the personality qualities of those born under this Moon sign.  The cardstock is SU Very Vanilla, and the designer paper is part of a SU DP offer that is in Cajun Craze color.  The Happy Birthday Sentiment is from Scripty  Sayings, a Lawn Fawn stampset.
The inside Birthday wish Reads:
The zodiac sign Cancer is symbolized by the Crab, with its impenetrable outer shell and vulnerable underside. Just as the Crab claw grips, Cancer energy makes us cling to comforts—from job security to beloved family members and pets. The Crab also carries its home on its back, and Cancer is about setting up a cozy and safe space wherever it goes. Change can threaten this security-seeking sign, which seeks to plant deep roots. Under the influence of a Cancer planetary transit, we feel sentimental and nostalgic. These are times for nurturing ourselves and our loved ones. The essence of Cancer energy is sensitive, domestic, feminine, maternal, compassionate, caretaking, romantic, and creative. Negative Cancer vibes can be gossipy, cliquey, isolated, passive-aggressive, hypersensitive, and overly competitive. Under the Cancer influence, emotions and intuition overrule their logic and intellect. Cancer rules the stomach and literally urges us to “go with our gut.” Cancer energy is the ultimate Chicken Soup for the Soul, and once you’ve sipped from the Crab’s consomme, you feel soothed and nurtured.

Pet Sympathy

The sentiment reads:  Our treasured friends bless our lives and give us more love than we ever knew was possible.  May fond memories of Star bring peace and comfort to you.  And may you always remember that had you never had her, you would never have known her love
Inside the medallion (by Karen Schulz in her kit Love My Dog) is the Khalil Gibran quote, " When you are sorrowful, look again in your heart, and you shall see you are weeping for that which has been your delight."
