New Cards

Here are a few of the new cards I have made especially for the Open Market that will be held at the First United Methodist Church next Saturday (April 28)  I will be one of the many vendors hoping to sell some of my crafting projects.  My "proceeds" will go into the savings for a trip with Granddaughter Georgia this summer.
This card is created over blended Distress Oxide Inks and inlay technique on white cardstock using the W Plus9"s elegant Tossed Floral Background die.   The sentiment "Butterflies --flowers that fly and all but sing"  (Robert Frost)    The butterflies asre "detailed butterflies" a Tim Holtz mini die

The great antique Celebrating roadster and the celebrate Birthday sentiment came from TLC Creations by Paulette.  I have had them forever, so not sure if they're still available at her store.
The paper is Stampin Up.
Also from  TLC Creations and shimmered heart, this card is on gray textured cardstock (Weathered by Taylored Expressions.  I did a couple of these for the Open Markeet Fair.   The Sentiment says,
"May favorite place is inside one of your HUGS"  I have had many requests through the years for cards created with this adorable graphic.

This one is created with a Penny Black stamp from So Happy.
The embossed paper is by SU, and sentiment is from Thoughts and Prayers by SU.

Penny Black stamp again, over butterfly corner embossed mat.  The Believe die is by Cheery lynn Designs and the sentiment reads "You can't choose what life throws at you, but you can choose how you respond"  Mats are SU paper (Real Red) and grapic is colored with Prismacolor pencils and wink of stella accent.

Will be taking orders for (similar) or custom Journals

Anemone Sprite

It has been just so much fun to be the Guest Designer for Mitzi Sato-Wiuff and during the GREAT Aurora Wings 4th Anniversary Celebration. And to be one of your hostesses of the Sprite Delight V Challenge (#65)
Seeing all of your amazing Sprite projects is so inspiring and so much fun.  Congratulations to each participant for all the love and effort you shared as your little Sprite joined the Party this month.

The Anemone Sprite is my final project as Guest Designer.   The card is a Standing Double Z fold card. The top of the cardfront is royal purple metallic paper with the elegant WPlus9 Design Studio's Tossed Floral Background Steel Rule Die (WP9-D205) die cut from SU White Shimmer Paper.
Rather than a floral hinged front closure on the front which I considered, I decided to create a ribbon "belly band" of sparkling organza ribbon.  Silk flowers and pearl stems are centered on the bow.  When the card is opened and displayed there is room in the "pillars" for a special sentiment sentiment, or a little note to the recipient.  The Anemone Sprit, almost fullsize is colored in mixed media...blended watercolors, colorburst paint, Prismacolor Pencils, copics, glitter pens. The centers of each Anemone is touched with Tonic Nuvo Drops.

Read the symbolism of the Anemone flower on the zfold card created with the colors in which Anenomies are found HERE

Happy Birthday, Mark

Wishing you a wonderful Birthday, Mark, a FABULOUS summer, and a year that is the best yet.

Wonderful die my BFF gave me for my birthday.  The Dream Catcher, by  Spellbinders.  It is worked in layers with white, on purple die cut scalloped oval.  The mat is word art done in Photoshop and faded through the mat.  Embellies are rainbow colored rhinestones and Swarovski crystals.

The Poppy Sprite--California Dreaming.

Joining the Sprite Delight V Challenge at  Aurora Wings  4th Anniversary Celebration this month is the Poppy Sprite.  This playful little sprite dancing in California Poppies.   The Cup of Gold  poppy is really very orange--but has True Gold at its heart. This Poppy grows throughout the state covering the landscape in gold--- and is "The Golden State's"  official flower. Gold is the state mineral, and gold is one of the two state colors (with blue). This sprite is colored in Prismacolor Pencils and matted onto a photo of California Poppies.  Accented with wink of stella and gold stickles, she's framed in a distressed edge oval.

Won't you come play with the Sprites this Month in Challenge #65 .  I have so enjoyed being the March Guest Designer for this very special Celebration and look forward to seeing your Sprites' magic.   We just have 13 more days of this DELIGHT-full challenge!
