April 15th--Relay for Life

Our Sun City Cancer Survivors will have a team in the local American Cancer Society Relay for Life event on April 15th.  Before that we will have a small table for donations to our team at our local grocery store.  We'll have pledges, donations, luminarias and these cards available to donors.  It has been a lot of fun to create these little cancer-awareness bras, With the MFT Support Hope Dies, and I will use My Favorite Things "Support Hope" stampset---for the inside sentiments--personalized for each donor.  The little bra is a  Die-namics exclusive design from My  Favorite Things stamps.

Becka's Flipping Fabulous

This is a gift card holder made out of a Glassine Craft Bag (SU).  It has pockets and folds that hold a sentiment tag and a gift card (pulled by the rhinestone tabs to show).  The DP is from my stash, and the light colors are burnished with Distress Ink (China Blue)  The Glitter border is a sticker from Pop Ups Etctra and the other flowers with rhinestone centers are just punched from SU paper scraps.  Organza ribbon is the lightest yellow/beige that I had, and I chose to leave the oranges from the palette out of this delicate gift card holder.

Celebrate your Day

The first time I colored this Celebrate your Day graphic by Miran was August 23rd.  This time she holds a vellum stamped balloon, and is walking on the hearts on a breeze a Simon Says Die created in partnership with Memory Box. Punched twice, with red hearts inlaid.  The EF on Pacific Point (SU) paper is a Tim HoltzTexture Fades EF (66108).

Slatted Baskets

A great tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers by Betty  Traciak for adorable slatted baskets made some little boxes to hold embellishments, die cuts, and paper punched items for the upcoming Papers N Pixels workshop this Friday.  See that The SCS project here:  They won't have handles until after the workshop, but I may keep them as  adorable boxes for die cuts and punched flowers!

Happy Birthday Traci

This card is for my VBF on her birthday today.  Happy  Birthday, Traci!

I used the SU Number of Years framelits for the "6s" and  inside stamped sentiment:  "The number of years the world has been a better place because you're in it."  The background paper is created in Photoshop of all the number sixes I could find or create.  The butterflies are the  Collete Butterfly Branch butterflies, (99387) by Memory Box cut from gold glitter paper.  The tags are cut from SU Tangelo twist "Lots of Labels" and the flowers are from I Am Roses.com with punched and diecut leaves.

She suggests summer to me, and I love summer (by the beach!)

Rite of Spring_ Mitzi Sato Wiuff

Flowers and Balloons

Here are three cards---my fun play for today.  The flowers are punched from vellum and whisper white, stamped  with Hero Arts White pigment ink (would be better embossed). The stampset is "Flower Shop" (SU).  They are brushed with ink on reverse of vellum, or colored with Chameleon watercolor pens (Card #2).  The butterflies are vellum with clear Stickle detail, a Martha Stewart stamp/punch set.

The Balloons are created with glitter Washi tape (SU), gold thread, a snowfall EF on the center white matte, and gold and silver dp.  They are  VERY glittery, but do not photograph well.  The sentiments for Anniversary and for Happy Birthday are from Pop Ups  Etc.

The technique on the Anniversary card is sponged and stenciled backgrounds on ovals cut from Spellbinders Stitched ovals.  The Leaf Flourish is Cheery Lynn Right Flourish (B117).  The tiny hearts are negative punches from an all over background heart die.

Heart Sign_ Miran

I made this card for a special friend's birthday.  This graphic called Heart  Sign was colored in Prismacolor Pencils, hearts were filled with Crystal 3d glaze.  The artpiece was die pierced with Spellbinders pierced mats, and is mounted on Mint Macaroon and Watermelon Wonder paper.  There are some tiny holographic stickers on this card as well and the Happy Birthday drop down is Impression Obsession DIE 235-M.

The Pineapple Sprite--Mitzi Sato Wiuff

Aurora wings has another precious sprite--the Pineapple Sprite, done here in Prismacolor Pencils and mounted on Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Botanical Garden DP Stampin Up papers.  I created her for the  Aurora Wings Sprite Delight 3 Challenge  Each hexagonal rind section is striped with gold stickles.

For centuries the Pineapple has been recognized as a traditional expression hospitality and welcome throughout the world. This fruit symbolizes warmth, welcome, friendship and hospitality, and in the Southern US, you will see the pineapple everywhere.
The fruit holds the strong antioxident, Vitamin C.  It is a Bromelian thought to combat the formation of certain cancer cells.   It is very acidic, so if you are cutting up very much pineapple, you should wear gloves.  Try placing fresh pineapple spears in a bath of Creme de Menthe!  Oh--La-La
The principal pollinator of the pineapple's beautiful flower is a hummingbird.  Seed formation needs pollination, but the presence of seeds harms the quality of the fruit. In Hawaii where pineapple is grown on an agricultural scale, importation of hummers is prohibited for this reason.
