Thanks for being SUCH A GREAT FRIEND

Friendship isn't a big thing
It's a million little things.

I made this card for my special friend who shares a million little things with me. Together we have THE most fun no matter what we are doing, crafting, designing, Photoshopping, photographing things, creating for others, shopping, eating,  cooking, sipping tea--or just making RAK's.   She loves Frogs, and I love Fairies, and so this image is just PERFECT for the two of us.   The image was in my files from 2004 by  Dufort. It is printed on rather coarse watercolor paper, and lightly textured with Prismacolor Pencils.

Congratulations---Hard Work

GOOD WORK, GEORGIA

This Hard Work Pays Off---Congratulatory card---is for DGD as she successfully finishes the second quarter of her Freshman year at UCSB.  It is created with papers and elements from Karen Schulz (Snickerdoodle Designs by Karen's) retired digital scrapbooking kit "Write Me a Letter" The little shirt is a folded $5 bill, and is attached with a paper clip.  The little buttons are easy to remove black rhinestones.  The Congratulations Banner is made with Scripty Sayings Stamp from Lawn Fawn. It ws inspired by graduation congratulations cards designed by Lexi Daly for Papertrey Ink for  her Make-It-Monday on March 28, 2018.

Good Times with Windows

This card was created as a sectioned shaker card using Penny Black's "Good Times" stampset.  The black frame is from My  Favorite Things "stitched edged frame".  The sentiment is from SU "Eastern Beauty" stampset. Sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh and the stamp is colored in Prismacolor pencils and glitter gel pens.  The tiny butterflies on the outside are a Martha Stewart punch.

For this card of appreciation I used the same window cut from black, and triple mounted onto woodgrain I made in  Photoshop.  The laser cut owl is from from a tri-pack I got at Michaels, and I think they are Recollections, but I am not sure.  The top sentiment stamp is from Waterfront by SU and reads "Every kindness makes the world brighter"  Second one is from the Gina K Wise Old Owl set.  Sequins are gold and clear this time. The artpiece is mounted on a full sheet of gold foil and the embossing is also done in gold detail EP. The same woodgrain paper covers the inside note-area of the card.

The Anemone Sprite

The name Anemone comes from the Greek for "windflower."  As Greek Mythology share, the anemone sprang from Aphrodite's tears as she mourned the death of Adonis.  The Anemone will bring luck and protect against evel, and legend has it that when the anemone closes its petals, it is a signal that a storm (or rain) is approaching.

Anemones are found in every flower color there is --and so this Sprite's halo of Anemone is every color.  It is quite a challenge to show the translucency of the delicate Anemone petals with pencils and watercolors but the nature of watercolor sure lends credibility to my effort!

This is a Z-fold card inspired by Sandi MacIver. The embossing is with a  Cuttlebug folder, and the artwork is done with watercolor pencils, paints and ink, on Caslon textured watercolor paper.  The mats and card base are  SU  Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise.  The centers of the Anemone's are yellow enamel dots touched with black ink (Anemone centers are black with a ring of yellow.)  The tiny butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch.

She is part of my contribution to the  Sprite V  --Fourth  Anniversary Celebration of the beautiful work of Mitzi Sato Wiuff AURORA WINGS, where I am the Guest Designer for the March Challenge

Ornament Girls Club_Flutter Fold Egg

The March Ornament in the Ornament Girls Club was a very interesting "flutter fold."  The design was created by Monica for Stacey Lowry and the Ornament Girls Club.  The delicate spring fabric was accented with pearls, and sequins of all sorts creating the medallion.  Many of the sequins are from my stash, (Pretty Pink Posh  Sequin assortments) but the gorgeous array of embellishments included in the kit creates a gorgeous ornament too.  It was fairly uncomplicated to get the hang of the flutter fold, but going around an egg did have it's challenges!  Here's the result of my first of the two eggs included in the Club Kit for March.

Punched (framelits) ideas

I used Deb Valder's ideas for double cutting framelits for interesting panel detail.  Instead of using framlits, I was moving things  around and found some (VERY) old punches of SU that I never really did much with.  So this features an old three layer punch out of DP backed in coordinating paper and Tangelo Twist Ribbon, enamel dots, and accents by  SU.  The sentiment is from Memory Box Die from open studio called Iris. The punched design is coated with 3Dcrystal Glaze, and the cut out rim is also edged in 3D Crystal Glaze.  This is So easy and so C&S and I have a quite a horde of DP strips the width you see here. Borders are gold edged holographic sticker "lines" that I get from Pop Ups Etc.

This is done with a similar punch (very old) SU double punched, trimmed brushed with wink of stella.  The sentiment is from Painted Petals SU...and SU DP Old olive and white paper.

Special Peek A Boo Birthday Wishes, Margie

This peek-a-book birthday card uses one of the hummingbirds from Hummingbird Thanks by Pretty Pnk Posh--also dewdrops and marshmallow sequins are from PPP.  The card front is an embossed stencil (Deco Wallpaper) by AlteNew, and the roses are from Vintage Rose stampset, also AlteNew. The Birthday sentiment is from the "Iris" stampset by Memory Box.  The hummer is painted with Ken Oliver Metallic Crafts inks.

Daffodil Sprite

This is the Aurora Wings Daffodil Sprite  Birthday Easel Card
Daffodils are the flower for March birthdays. The legend comes from Mythology in ancient Greece  where a man by the name of Narcissus looked at himself constantly and was obsessed with himself.  When he was looking at his reflection in a pool of water, he fell in and drowned.  The story is that from the grave a flower grew and it was called a Narcissus--but today known as the Daffodil.  This flower stands for beauty and love, and is a flower of hope and springtime.
The Sprite is colored with Prismacolor Pencils, touched with glitter pens, Wink of Stella and White Posca pen.  The background stamp is Kaisercraft Clear Stamp --script, stamped in tip top taupe on crumb cake paper, mounted on so saffron matting over chocolate chip (all papers from SU)  The sentiment stamp is punched and edged with walnut stain distress ink and is from a flower set from one of Gina K's stamp tv kits.

Aurora Wings The Lilac Sprite
The Lilac Sprite is the free Sprite with this challenge.  I am thrilled to share the shaker card that I created with her.  You'll find glitz and glimmer, feathers and photographs in this 4.25 x 5.5 card.

The sentiment tucked behind the frame reads,

"I hope you're my friend forever, because that is how long I'm going to need you."

Image detail
Colored in Prismacolor Pencils, and Fantasia Watercolor Pencils
Accented with Wink of Stella, Stickles and Glitter Gel Pens.
--sequins, rhinestones, feathers and 3D crystal Glaze,
and a photograph of lilacs in bloom.

Lilacs symbolize new (or first) love and they come in many colors, white, pink, red, lavender and blue.  White lilacs symbolize youthful innocence and purity, blue--happiness and tranquility, magenta--love and passion, and lavender---first love.  Lilacs have long been associated with Easter, probably because they are among the first flowers of spring, and celebrate newness.  But sometimes lavendar lilacs are mournful, too.  This is probably reflecting the mood of the famous poem about Lilacs by Walt Whitman,

"When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom'd"

Double Rotated Stenciling

This is card of the new Alte New stencils called Wallpaper.  It is stenciled in worn lipstick Distress Oxide and Unicorn White Pigment ink for the second layer.  The diecuts are from S U heart set (2 vellum stacked hearts), a Marianne Creatables leaf set (cut from white glitter paper), and a Memory Box Botanical Stem die. The sentiment Stamp is from Gina K.

Below is the same stenciling technique inspired by Jennifer McGuire with the leaves Alte New stencil.

Aurora Wings--the Unicorn Sprite

Detail

This playful little Unicorn was created by Mitzi-Sato-Wiuff and is called the Unicorn Sprite--available HERE.  I created the clouds and double rainbow sky in Photoshop.  I brought the Sprite onto it, and then I extracted just the white sprite herself (taking the background of area around the graphic leaving only the sky created in Photoshop).
Then I colored the Sprite with Gel Glitter Pens, Prismacolor Pencils, White Poca Pen, and (skin) copics.  I added sticker holographic star borders, that I get from Pop Ups Etc,  and pearls and rhinestones.  I  created the stopper area  out of the large word "Believe" which is a Cheery Lynn word die.  That was cut and stacked four times in white and one time in black glitter paper.  This is an Easel Card; the message part of the inside reads  "Where there is Joy, Laughter and Magic, Unicorns Can be found"

Papers N Pixels Monthly Club Meeting

In our monthly Papers N Pixels Club meeting, Stampin Up Demonstrator Kathy Legan helped us create two great cards.  Using Stampin Up's cut Barn Door Stamp and Die Set we made sliders with various sentiments and decorations in them, experimented with the new 3D embossing folder with woodgrains--- and used the gorgeous foiled designer paper with one of the Balloon and word dies from SU to create a birthday card.

Our Sun City paper (and pixel) crafters meet on the 3rd Thursday each month at the Sun  City Mesquite Craft Room.  Every meeting contains demonstrations and make-it-and-take-it workshops for the members.

Pull Up Surprise--Favors and Fun.

I made these little secret pull up treats for my Red Hatters for their luncheon  Tuesday..  They turned out   SO CUTE.  Sentiment in Photoshop.

And these are  Safe_T_Pop Bunnies that were favors along with chocolate Easter Eggs too.

Best Wishes

This wedding card was created with the SU designer foil papers, Stampin Up Petite Pairs stamp embossed with copper EP ("Best Wishes" --and inside tag "for the new Mr & Mrs.")  The Panels are raised with foam tape and the artpiece is mounted on foam for dimension.  The copper border is a sticker from Pop Ups Etc.  The foil catches the light no matter how it is turned, and tiny copper pearl dots finish the elegant card.
