Journals and Journaling

I love using the Sizzix EH Score Boards XL Journal Die.  This die cuts everything you need for a perfect sized journal album out of chipboard of any weight you choose. Shown here is the one I made using Graphic 45 "Flutter" papers and Tim Holtz large tags for page-pocket inserts. Each group of 3 pages is created from file folders and cardstock and are tied into the spine with elastic cording. Individual pages have pockets and fold out tags, waterfalls and journaling bands.  This Flutter Journal is ribbon tied for closure. Tip---make templates in Photoshop for photo matting and sizes so your recipient will see how their photo would look on the pages in the Journal and know what size to cut their pictures.  These journals are time-consuming, but SO much fun as you watch each page become its own style and its own fun in your book.

Finish with Sparkle

When a card needs just a little oomph---don't forget to finish it with holographic sticker lines.  This is a shaker card with Holographic Gold Lines #1004, from (as always) Pop-Ups-Etc around the edges.  These "lines" come in all colors and in all kinds of holographic options.  I buy a LOT of these and use them constantly.   Various sizes are on this card around the window, the matting and the edges and around The Shaker Pinpoint Window Frame  (MFT).  Little dots from another gold holographic line-sticker set are the centers of the butterflies bodies.   The DP is by SU and is used to for the side borders and the backing behind the shaker window. The pinpoint butterfly trio is by Memory Box (94279). Sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh and the Thank You sentiment is also from Pop Ups Etc  from Starform Various Greetings Stickers (Gold) #324. Silver and clear glitter Nuvo drops complete the card. Remember to dust the edges of the foam tape before you rmove the backing so that sequins and shaker pieces move freely behind your shaker window.

Starform Stickers: Dress 1053

This card was made with stickers from "Dress" a Starform Sticker #1053 Gold.  You can buy them at Pop-Ups Etc, and a generous 20% from 5/28 to 6/18 is being offered to you at Pop Ups Etc,  Just use code DRESS20 at checkout.
This set is so versatile---perfect for a feminine birthday card, a wedding shower, or prom or graduation card. It contains rings, and necklaces gloves and fancy shoes, with unlimited possibilities for design.

The outline of the dress is pressed onto a white heat embossed watercolor paper using the "Ornate Background stamp (SSS101763) that has been colored using Artesa Watercolor Pencils and a waterbrush.  The font for the :Save The Date" font is Better Step, matching the color of the cardbase (a textured paper from my stash)

Thank you to our PnP President

PnP Members and Friends of Clareene Forbes
(In Reene's Room)  SURPRISED her at the last meeting of the
Spring--before we go into Summer SIGS (Special Interest Groups) for our
Papers N Pixels Club.  Our members wanted to surprise her and help her
get the machine of her dreams---a Brother Scan And Cut machine.
AND SO WE DID!
This is a little treasure box that holds two layers (and is thick enough to stack a lot of stuff into!)
The Top Layer holds all the thank you's from the sweet contributors to her
surprise.  Traci, Jeanine, Cathy K,  Betsy K, Betsy R, Twyla, Kathy L, Barb G, Kat,  Heather Marilyn, and Linda T, Lydia and Me.
They are on rings and the rings are ringed to an O ring and ties with a turquoise ribbon
so she has a circle of thanks surrounding her always. And the bottom layer is big enough for fronts and backs for two sided projects she can cut with her new machine AND a Thank You Envelope with the generous gifts of her friends inside.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU DO
CLAREENE
To GROW our SKILLS
TO PATIENTLY TEACH US
TO SHOW us how to make someting work and how to create only
HAPPY Mistakes
And to share your world of ALTERED ART projects.

A Graduation Lei

I had so much fun making this "money" graduation Lei for a 2019 Virgin Valley High School Graduate here in Mesquite.  It's hip-length long and features medallions with horseshoes on mirrors, Virgin Valley Mascot (Bulldog) and the School Coat of Arms on other medallions, beads and bills.
Happy Graduation Luis
It's been so much fun to know you for the past 11 years!
Good Luck and May Your Dreams and Hopes for the  Future be alive and bright always,

Tim Holtz Intricate Lace Die

Tim Holtz Sizzix Intricate Lace Die ( #664181) over silver glimmer paper.
The detailed lace is cut from Mint Macaron (SU) paper and adhered with the amazing  Ecstacy Crafts Sticky Specks adhesive.  The die should be cut ONLY on a CHROME PRECISION BASE  PLATE on your diecutting machine. (Mine is a Sizzix Chrome Plate)  It is too intricate for acrylic plates. (NOTE:  Once you use a die on a chrome plate you must never use it on a standard plate.  This is specific to Thinlits dies and important.

You've Got this Well in Hand

This is a Surprise Spinner Card, created with Playing Card-themed stickers from POP-UPs Etc.  Playing Cards Starform Vinyl #1205) The card front is created with a card themed paper modified in Photoshop from Happy Graphics' Esty store. The sentiment is created in Photoshop and is the Alice in Wonderland Font that says:  "Great Work" ---- "You've got this Well in Hand" The card hand is a sticker adhered to a piece of acetate which is popped up from a piece of vellum popped up over the background.  All the card themed photoprints are edged in red and gold borders (Starform Vinyl #1004) The circle medallion on the inside spins to reveal a single card on one side and a card hand on the other as the medallion spins from red to white.  The 4.25" x 5.5" card is constructed on Neenah solar white 110# paper and it is VERY HEAVY.  Use a lighter weight paper when matting and doublematting a card with this many folds.  The inspiration was drawn from the Surprise Spinner Card tutorial by Jennifer Mc Guire.

Saying Goodbye as a Precious Friend Moves

Though not very far away--- dear friends won't be just around the corner anymore!  This is a Surprise Window Spinner Card, with Gina K Wise Old Owls and owl sentiments;  They're colored with copics, watercolors and glitter pens.  The papers are created in Photoshop orignal (recolored) design by Karen Schulz (in This is Me April) to match Mint Macaron paper....which doesn't show up color true in the web-photo.   The Circle window is cut from "smile" --a shaker circle die by Pretty Pink Posh.  The friend's sentiment is from a stamp I can't find---or identify, so I recreated it in matching colors for the backside of the card in Photoshop.  The tutorial for the Surprise Spinner Card is by Jennifer McGuire.
(I found the sentiment stamp:  "Friends hold each other's hopes  in their hearts" is from Iris stampset by Memory box)
