3 Envelope Mini Photo Album

This little photo album is created with three 4x6 envelopes that are covered and matted with Botanical Tea paper (Graphic 45) and coordinating Bazzille cardstock, some coordinating polka dots I made in Photoshop and also some Very Vanilla cardstock (SU.)  People always ask what these little mini-albums look like populated with pictures, because they look so interesting with all their pockets and hidden compartments and flip outs...... So here is a super easy one (almost) finished with Pictures of the Flagstaff AZ area and the Wupatki Pueblo ruins as well as the lava fields from the Sunset Crater Volcano area taken by Patsy and Mark while they were on a little trip out of the heat of the desert up to Flagstaff and Sedona Arizona for a few days. Click on the pictures to view more detail.

As you open the three envelopes, under the first pocket is a picture of the lava fields, the back is clear for journaling, inside the tucked in pocket under the volcano is another matted photo;  the entrance sign to the Park and the volcano.

Open the center section and you see a little verse, that reads "To say Nothing is out here is incorrect; to say the desert is stingy with everything except space and light stone and earth is closer to the truth:  ~William Least Heat Moon~ and two stamps that I made from flower pictures that they took on their little trip.  Inside the third envelope's flap is a picture of the Pueblo and
on the reverse is some text about the ruins themselves.
Inside the envelope that opens the last "page" of the album is a picture of the Wupatki Pueblo and when you turn it over, there is information about the pueblo and the ruins journaled on the back.  There is actually room for a couple more photos in this album, or the recipients may want to journal some notes on the mats that are tucked in throughout the album.

I have made envelope albums out of 5x7's, 4x6's even large manila envelopes, and accordian folded as many as 10 or 12 envelopes.  They are fun to do "patchwork" style with papers from your stash --and fun too to coordinate and plan matched and complimentary pages.

Here's what the little album looks like before mats and photos and before the holes are punched for the pockets.

The Hummingbird Sprite

This precious Hummingbird Sprite was created by Mitzi Sato Wiuff (Aurora Wings) and is colored in prismacolor pencils and painted in some areas with Ken Oliver's Liquid Metallic watercolors. The sentiment  is from Stampin Up's Thoughts and Prayers stampset (2).  It is embossed with copper embossing powder. The card front mat is created in Photoshop in autumn colors and topped with a black mat for the artpiece.  One tiny metallic heart is on the Fuschia's petals.  The eye and beak of the hummer is glaze pen and touched with posca white.  I considered creating  a watercolor wash background but decided I wanted the focus to remain on the shimmer of the metallic watercolors.

This gorgeous sprite is done again with Ken Oliver's Liquid Metallic watercolors worked in the corals and purples and prismacolor pencils.  The sentiments are from Gina K and Stampin Up (Million to One).  The colors are SU Watermelon Wonder and Rich Razzleberry which is edged in gold rimmed enameled scallops (Pop Ups Etc stickers). and the card Design is a portrait orientation modified z-fold card. with inside areas for photos or messages on two faces.

Zig Zag Spinner

This little Hallowee'n card is created with the Memory Box Slider die and little ghosts and background paper created by Snickerdoodle Designs by Karen digital scrapbooking kit Trick or Treat (on of my favorite of her kits).  I followed the tutorial by Memory Box to make this slider card with a penny one of the slider dies.  Sometimes the little ghost slides and sometimes he spins, it is dependent upon how the card is held.  I think it would work better if the angle of the top slider channel was less.

Zig--no Zag!  Crystal Stars (Prietty Pink Posh)  Wink of Stella and one little sliding ghost.

WindowPop Up Slider Cards

These cards  use SU DP  in Old Olive and white. They and are worked in Prismacolor Pencils using the Sunny Studio Window Sliding Die.  The Little Bear is from the Kit and Clowder Monthly  December 2017 Class on Animal Fur, the gra phic is called  Bouquet Teddy.  This class is being reoffered until Sept 1 at Kit and Clowder.

Sentiment  Stamps are  by Just Rite Stamps (Fancy Sentiments)

Another card for the September Papes N Pixels Make it and Take it workshop that I will be teaching with this die.  This adorable little mouse is "Birthday Pippin" graphics from Wendy Hall (Creations by Louby Lou) and is embellished with  Nuvo Drops, stars cut from Penny Black's die "Starry"  the Happy Birthday Sentiment is SU's "Sassy Salutations." The White pop up cardfront is attached to Night of Navy A2 cardbase.

The card is below constructed on Tip Top Taupe (sidefold card base SU).  The Stacked letters on the front are from Impression Obsession Sending Lots of Good Wishes die  (DIE365_W)   The words are cut out of the frame (which is a wonderful shaker frame!) and finished with Judikins Diamond Glaze over Nuvo Glitter gloss, and Gold Wink of Stella   The artpiece and the cardfront woodgrain paper are created in Photoshop using SD's Jack and Lucille digital scrapbooking kit.(retired/ & altered), and a photo of these two people.  The pull here stamp is by Lawn Fawn. Top and bottom of the slider are edged in copper line stickers (PopUps etc). When the slider is pulled, this one reveals a stamped sentiment by Herman Melville  (by Wordsworth s367-1 "We Cannot" 2006)  inked in Distress Ink (Walnut Stain)  Note to self:  Diecut the Lots of Good Wishes die with metallic paper for the top layer of the raised stack of words.

This Advice from an Owl features beautiful owl etchings from the Friday (August 17th) selections from The Graphics Fairy.  I made the grey background paper in Photoshop and printed on white matte paper. The slider is is made of black paper and the top is adhered to a white side-fold card base.  The sentiments are made  from Gina K  Wise Old Owl stampset and general owl sentiments.  The little reinforcement comes with the die set, and it is tied in grey and white baker's twine for the pull.  The card is black and white and shades of gray, though the photography doesn't demonstrate that.

This final card is created with SU designer vellum paper colored with watercolors, and mounted on white Diecut (090) from Spellbinders.  I have had this dieset forever and the nearest thing I see available today is Romantic Rectangles for a similar size and look. The pink paper is SU and the ink is SU Melon Mambo.  The tiny flowers are punched and the tiny leaves are cut from Memory Box Botanical Stem die.  The Sentiment is from Sentimental Iris, a Memory Box stampset.  Rhinestones finish the card front adhered to a white card base..
