I made this card for my dear friend who just lost her Father. Wishing you and the family comfort and strength in knowing others care and share your loss.
The inside sentiment reads: Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory comfort you tomorrow. Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in our every thought and prayer.
This card has been created digitally in Photoshop from elements and designs by Rina Kroes found her kit In Memoriam.

Pretty border, pink and white, and have a heart---guidelines for the cards created during this week at Joan's Gardens. This card uses two embossing folders, one SU Sizzix "Perfect Polka Dots" on the Top Note die cut polka dotted pink paper, and the other the Flourish & Dots 65690 Sizzix embossing folder available at Joan's Gardens. Heartfelt Creations Timeless Amour is the diecut for the heart that I got at Joans. (Beautiful set, I've used a lot this week)
Organza ribbon bow is accented with a light pink inked edge Facial Tissue Carnation, inspired by the Wednesday Tutorial at SplitCoastStampers, by Joanne Allison. The tiny pink roses (and textured leaves) are from I am Roses.com, and the sentiment to welcome a baby girl is from Pop Ups Etc. The baby girl is due Feb 2

At Joan's Gardens Challenge #3
This is a second card I made using the wonderful Accordion Flip 3-D Sizzix dies (658035 and 658037). I tried something new---spritzing an m-bossabilities folder ( El-005 called Splendid) with Glimmermist then embossing the paper. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, I need to try this again with a much lighter spritz (but "as usual" that bottle of Glimmermist the bubblegum color was Clogged, and I threw it away) I am liking VERY MUCH the spritzers and all purpose glimmery Stampin Up inks and also the Ranger Perfect Pearls Mists. I was inspired to try that by Linda Duke Hers was gorgeous! I used the Punch Bunch Begonia Petals punch to create the rose, one of the first paper flower crafting I ever tried when Selma and Joan taught it. The rose is backed with pearl centered organza bows, and "Little Leaves" Sizzlets die cuts (SU). The silver open heart border (from Popups Etc) is accented with Ranger's Silver Liquid Pearls. Diecut glitter paper accents other folds in the accordion fold project. The letters for "love" are from the designer kit, Bella Grace by Just So Scrappy in alpha Set 2. And Pepe and his girlfriend are from Cheez the One by Snickerdoodle Designs by Karen.

At Joan's Gardens Challenge #3
OH OH OH---is this a fun die to work with--it's really quick, it's really pretty and there's no end to what you can do with the Accordion Flip 3D album set. Sizzix. 650835 and 650837 from Joan's Gardens. The letters are from the designer kit Bella Grace, by Just So Scrappy in her Alpha set#2. The backside of this accordion card features elements from Cheez the One by Snickerdoodle Designs by Karen, little Pepe and his girlfriend. The side borders are commercial, (no idea what company), and the little bows are commercial too, because I am totally out of pink organza ribbon! With a little help from scor-tape and the xyron, this card went together FAST!

This pink and white card with a heart and decorative borders is inspired by Cely (Carolina Girl's) post for this week's challenge. The holographic tape is by Starform, and available at PopUps Etc. At Joan's Gardens Challenge #3
The challenge this week is a pink and white valentine, with a pretty border and a heart. For this card I used an embossed pink border with ribbon for the belly band of a gate fold card. The Dies are Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Hearts (S4_137) (available at Joan's Gardens) The embossing folder for the white matting is a SU folder Vintage Wallpaper. The inside of the card sentiment is stamped from flourishes.org Lace Heart Set number 12, and says How do I love the? At Joan's Gardens #3
This card is layered up cardstock bordered with a Stampin Up corner, and edge punch. The medallion is cut with a scalloped circle punch. The lattice heart is glazed with 3D Galaxy Gloss over inked pink paper, and part of a Martha Stewart heart-edge punch. The Butterflies stamped on the background, and the sentiment are by SU. I made it for the Joan's garden, pretty border, heart, and pink and white card challenge, and the design was inspired by Sandi McIver of SU.
At Joan's Gardens Challenge #3
This card (pink and white, with at least one heart and a pretty border), is unlike anything I've tried before.
The background cardstock is stamped with a Hero Arts Cling Stamp, Heart Flourishes. The edge diecut border is created using Tim Holtz Alterations Brackets Die. (Available at Joan's Gardens) I have NO idea where the heart shaped doily came from, but most likely the cake-decorating section of Walmart in a doily pack. Metal charm hearts from my stash---don't know the manufacturer. (It was at the bottom of my paper embellishments and cut outs box. I ran it through the bigshot to flatten it completely, then adhered it to pink inked-edge cardstock with Glue N Seal.
I tried a rub-on from K&Company called Sweet Talk. I did not like the way that the rub-on stuck (probably too many surfaces for a good adhere---so I will either spray or brush the surface with something to be sure that the big flourishy word "Love" is stuck down. I'm thinking ModPodge, or Clear Acrylic spray---any suggestions? --OR just a light coat of Inkessentials Glue N Seal Both my ModPodge and Glue N seal give a matte finish, and I really don't want a matte surface on this card.

At Joan's Gardens Challenge # 3
This week the challenge is to use a pretty border, and create a pink and white Valentine's Day Card, with at least one heart on it. The Tag frame surrounding the sentiment is from Joan's Gardens, and is a Just Rite Cling from the Fancy Tags Set. The teeny hearts are punched from a Studio G (Walmart) punch. The border is from Pop-up's Etc, with some of the negative hearts used on the tag. I didn't have any pink paper in my stash that was what I wanted for the background so I made it in Photoshop. The adorable mouse is an element that is in the digital kit, Cheez the One, by Karen Schulz of Snickerdoodle Designs by Karen.
At Joan's Garden Challenge #3
The challenge this week is to make a pink and white Valentine card with a pretty border and at least one heart.
I used Spellbinders Labels 17 to cut out a stamped sentiment by SU from Delightful Dozen stampset. The border is a Martha Stewart heart border punch from plain pink cardstoc spritzed with Sheer Sparkle Shimmer by Tsuineko. I outlined the lattice in the hearts and the diecut with a gelly roll glitter pen, and edged the centerpiece with holographic sparkle strips from pop-up-s etc. The background lightly stamped with a flourish from SU Strength and Hope stamps and grosgrain and a rhinestone heart from my stash complete the first pink and white card for this challenge. The dies, the punch, and most supplies for this one are available At Joan's Gardens Many of my "heart' dies and punches are out on loan right now so I started with what I still had in my stash this week.

At Joan's Gardens Week #2
This card is of white cardstock, 7x5, for the aqua, light green and purple challenge At Joan's Gardens this week. I used part of the Sizzix 656980 Embossing Folder, the Flourish, Dots and Ribbon Set available at Joan's Gardens. The stamp's manufacturer is unnamed; I've had it many years since Lavender Festival times in Sequim Washington. It is embellished with the Fuschia Flower Soft, and Stickles. The sentiment and the gold line trim is from PopUps Etc. The card is lightly burnished with aqua pigment inks. I'm sorry that the vibrance of the rich purple paper (from SU) doesn't show in the photo; this is really quite a dramatic card.
At Joan's Gardens Week # 2 Challenge
For the week 2 challenge, this aqua, purple and light green card (on oyster textured deckled cardstock) is done with Cheery Lynn's Build a Flower #1 (for the purple Clamatis flower, which is created out of suede paper (don't try it--it won't "warp"), and using Marianne Designs Creatibles #LR0250, and Spellbinders M-bossabilities, the debossed and letter-press technique with purple ink on the embossing folder "Splendid" EL-005.....all available at Joan's Gardens. The tiny flower accents are a GStudio (Walmart) punch centered with buttercup Liquid Pearls by Ranger (also available from Joan.) Sentiment Stickers are from PopUps Etc. This is a large 7x5 card.

At Joan's Gardens Jan 10 Challenge
This card is doubled mounted on shimmiring blue paper and stamped with Elements of Style (Stampin Up) roses in Kaleidacolor graduated Blue inks. I don't have a lot of corner dies that work well on A5 cards, so the corner die I used for these are the corners cut from the largest Spellbinders "Romantic Rectangle" set. The flag, "Thank You" is Itty Bitty Banners (Stampin Up) stamp and die. And the flowers I chose for this card are bright blue rhinestone flowers on the organza bow and corner accents. Romantic Rectangles, and other supplies for this card are available At Joan's Gardens.
At Joan's Gardens Challenge Week of Jan 10

SplitCoast Stampers #345
This Mini Blinds Card was inspired by the tutorial by Diane Zechman at Splitcoast Stampers.
I used paper by Colorbok and Core'dinations, Embossing folder by Sizzix (Vintage Wallpaper-Stampin Up), pearls by KaiserCraft, a Martha Stweart edge punch, sentiment stickers by Starform, and Spellbinders Large Labels S4-295, and of course my indispensible Scor-pal.. for this fun Window-blind card. This card uses digital papers and digital stamps and elements created by Karen Schulz (snickerdoodledesignsbykaren) in her kit 'Puppy Love' printed on glossy photo paper. The little heart and the pawprint are by Loucee in her kit Love Me Love my Dog. I used Poppy Stamps #816 Small Madison Window, and Spellbinder's Labels 17 and Large Labels S4-168 dies. I used butcher's twine for the ribbon pulls, and a Martha Stewart edge punch for the valence. The Small Madison Window is very narrow, and I would like this better if the blinds were folded into a narrower accordion. |
