Diagonally score top left to bottom right on the outside panels from top center and then outside left of the card. S&F back.  DP is diagonally cut 2 1/2 x 5 1/8 (two pieces)  Create tag or magnetic closure if desired.  The tutorial that inspired this card is HERE at Barb Stamps.

RX_ Just the Tincture of Time and a Speedy Recovery

Our doctor was injured in a mountain biking accident and won't be back to the clinic for a while, SO I made a very special card for him.  This Get Well card was created with papers and graphics designed by Karen Schulz (Snickerdoodle Designs by Karen) in her retired kit "Take Me Away" and is designed in Photoshop.   The note in the bottle Prescribes "Tincture of Time"  "Virtue of Patience" and "Wisdom of Hope"

The inside sentiment says   "We wanted to write something cheery and fun on this  Get Well  Soon Card for you, Dr.   But there's nothing cheery or fun about your accident.   So here's all our support for you today.  And he're's what's left of the doses you've prescribed for the  Tincture of time to heal.  Handle yourself with the patience and care you give to all your patients, and accept our best wishes for a very Speedy  Recovery!"

Miran July Progressive

This little Miss Vannessa, the is the top scholar for the July Progressive at  the Art by Mi  Ran Facebook Challenge.  She is colored in Prismacolor Pencils.  This card is quite different because the Graphic is popped up off of an embossed acrylic cover (Tim Holtz Carnivale #657847,)  It shows through to a gray textured marble paper I made in Photoshop, and the logo for the RMHS Rattlers fussy cut inside. Under the books is a maroon heart with Good Luck This Year on it for my Granddaughter.

Miran July Progressive_ Vannessa

This little schoolgirl is colored in Prismacolor Pencils and finished with glaze, Wink of Stella and some stickles and stamps.  The sentiment is diecut from hot pink cardstock and is an Avery Ella Die.
The black an white background are designer papers from  Stampin up.  She's prepared for the Challenge that is HERE.

The card is for my granddaughter who is a Senior this year in Palm Springs as Rancho Mirage High School (Go Rattlers).  I can't believe they're less than 4 weeks away from the start of a new school year.

Fold Out Book Card---Good Friends

I created this card (ATC sized Book) using Karen Schulz kit Good Friends, and six little stories of hope and caring.    It is especially for my good friend, Karen!

Challenge 32 at Aurora Wings Peony

These beautiful peonies were drawn by Mitzi Sato Wiuff and you can find them in her Aurora  Wings Store.   I printed the image on vellum and used dry pencilling technique (Prismacolor Pencils) on the blossoms and leaves.  Then I mounted the vellum which I fussy cut onto a clear acetate window cut into a A2 top fold card.  I lined the card inside with diamond glitter paper by  SU.  The sentiment will either be printed on vellum and overlaid inside, OR I will use a (silver) sentiment sticker on the clear acetate on top.  This is  absolutely beautiful, but the dazzing diamond glitter paper is glimmery white, not creme as the bottom photo shows. Lavender Rhinestones finish the elegant card.  It is created for the "My Favorite Color Challenge (#32)  at Aurora Wings .

The traditional floral symbol of China, the state flower of Indiana, and the 12th Wedding Anniversary flower, peonies are the flower of riches and honor. With their lush, full, rounded bloom, peonies embody romance and prosperity and are regarded as an omen of good fortune and a happy marriage.

Columbine Sprite

This precious little blue  Columbine Sprite drawn by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff (Aurora  Wings) tells the story of her namesake. Columbines come in a wide variety of colors one being the true blues.  She is colored in Prismacolor pencils and touched with Liquid Pearls.  She is created for the Aurora Wings Blog Challenge #31, My favorite Color.  Dark and Light Blue!

I love knowing the symbolism each flower shares--and here's the Columbine's:

The root of the name Columbine, columba is Latin and means dove. But the Columbine’s true Latin name is Aquilegia which translates to mean eagle. It was so named because the spurs of this flower reminded some observers of the talons of an eagle, and like the eagle the Columbine has evolved to survive perfectly in its unique environment whether it be southwestern United States or the mountainsides of Colorado.
Columbines have been mentioned or depicted in the Christian religion over many centuries. Christians believed that the columbine had the meaning of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit and these included: wisdom, intellect, reverence or piety, strength, advise, knowledge and fear (fear of god or fear of doing wrong in the eyes of god).

The Celtics believed in the world of dreams and visions and that columbines were the portal to this world. Austrians believed the columbine symbolizes five doves in a circle. It’s funny what you can see in a flower.
