Butterfly Stencil

I created this card for Joan's Touch, Challenge #13, to use a stencil, offset shadowed if you wish, and two patterned papers. I only own two stencils, and the one I used for this card is from the Netherlands, DE04 by Make Me, a deco-embossing stencil.  It has a couple of frames on it, one used here, and balloons tied with a ribbon in the center that you can stencil in.  I used a patterned paper and inked the stencil first with Bermuda Bay (SU) blue ink, and the balloons with bright yellow.  Then I moved the stencil and Brushed on  Viva Modeling Cream to offset the color.  The other "patterned paper" was created by embossing yellow cardstock with Tim Holtz Damask and Regal Flourishes Texture Fades embossing folder (Sizzix 656648).  This I burnished lightly with Viva's Inka Gold Silver.  The butterfly is cut from Spellbinders S4-395 Les Papillions2 dies. It's tied with a flat yellow organza bow.  This card has a shiny, sheer, dainty finish on it, and is really quite pretty.

I do have a "photo-folio book" started and am working with some Paper Perfect paste for a design on that for later in the week.  All of the dies, embossing folders, and modeling compounds for a card like mine can be purchased at Joan's Gardens  But the most amazing thing I used on this card was the PHENEMONAL Tool N One from Spellbinders (via Joans Gardens, --thank you Terri!).  This great little tool (and mat) makes getting those teeny pieces out of delicate and intricate dies a SNAP!  WHERE has this tool been!

This is NOT an easy challenge, Joan; thank you for the tips and tricks for working with stencils.

  2. Prisms, this is soft and pretty. I stenciled years ago and I'm glad it is back. Great job.
