Gifts of Spring

I'm giggling because when I set out to do this card, it was to be for a challenge at Joan's Gardens.  I finished the pink and white spring card and was ready to post to the challenge when I saw that I'd forgotten that the challenge had called for the use of a lattice of some kind...and also some flowers.

When I told Joan about this goofy mistake, she said she wanted me to post the card anyway!  So here it is---Please know that it NOT in the competition for the drawing because it doesn't meet the challenge guidelines at all.  Please enjoy the peek for the techniques I tried.

For it I used the Spellbinder's shapeabilities  Les Papillions Two S4-395, cut from shimmery gold velum, the underwings are cut from pearl vellum and bodies created from rhinestones.  I used Tim Holtz Alterations, Texture Fades with the Oval Embossing Diffuser also by Tim Holtz.  That is surface-rubbed in Inka Gold Metallic Rub.  The Sentiment is stamped from a Graphic 45 stampset  ICO290 (Sweet Sentiments 1).  It reads "The gifts of spring cause much delight, warm sun shines over your pathway bright."  This is embossed in gold EP by Stampin Up.  Almost all of the materials for this card CAN be purchased at Joan's Gardens.
