Holiday Hoopla

Every year we take a big can of Almond Roca to the Mesquite Police Dept where DH volunteers.  This year I decorated the cans with papers and elements from Karen Schulz' Holiday Hoopla kit.  The little elves she made are SO cute, and the project was a lot of fun. All I needed was scor-tape, my printer, and some ribbon and Stickles. 

This matching Greeting card is embossed with Holly Swirls (Sizzix #657139) and Lifestyle Crafts nested Scalloped circle dies.   The can topper was resized to 4.5 inches, and printed on glossy photo paper.  Red Stickles glitter glue and ribbon finishes the card.

At Joan's Gardens Challenge #42

The challenge this week is to create a card made of recycled paper. This card is 5"x 7"  For this card I used a paper bag, and the center that supported a roll of wrapping paper (not a tube) because of it's grainy fiber texture.  The Embossing folder was the Hobby Solutions HSFC005 "Elk", that I got from Joan last week. I inked the folder heavily with Tim Holz Distress ink "Walnut Stain" and used the "debossed side" of the paper for the oval cut with Lifestyle Crafts largest of the stacked ovals set. This is edged with Distress ink, Antique Linen, a little beiger and yellower ink.  This is mounted on gold leaf glitter cardstock by Best Creation, Inc.   The ribbon accent is beige organza topped with Crystal Mosaique by Crystal Stickers, that I lightly tapped with the walnut stain.  The brown paper bag is embossed with my BRAND NEW AWESOME E-Bosser Machine manufactured by Craftwell USA. I used the  large embossing folder that shipped with the machine available AT JOAN'S GARDENS. (as are all the products I used for this card)  Thank you Joan for the wonderful video on using this new machine, and for your help getting started with it.

Today is my DH's 77th birthday.  Wishing you a wonderful year ahead, filled with good fun, good friends, good luck, and good health!  Happy Birthday, Roger.

At Joan's Gardens Challenge #41

How to make this pretty mountain and valley folded cardfront (done on a Scor-Pal)is showcased in the November issue of Paper and Pixels Magazine, (published November 15th at Papers and Pixels.com, page 88).  The green glitter edge strips that accent the folds, and the Merry Christmas sentiment are available from Pop Ups etc, The Poinsettia is Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia S5055 available at Joan's Gardens.  Ribbon, Stickle and a brad finish this red, white and green card.

AT Joans Gardens Challenge #41

Red, white and green--that's the theme. This adorable stamp is by Whimsey Stamps (by Meljen  MD1063) and I ordered this rubber clingstamp the day Joan opened this challenge JUST for a red, green and white card I had in mind. The whimsical fairy has snow-glitter and Stickles embellies, and the Sentiment is from Pop-Ups etc.  The stamp is colored with colored pencils and Gamsol, and die cut with Spellbinders Scalloped Circles.  The red matte is embossed with Hobby Solutions  Holly (HSFC004) that I got last week at Joan's Gardens

This card is cut (green foil) and pearl glimmer-misted (Tattered Angels) red paper with Lifestyle Crafts nesting scallops. I wrapped the red scallops with fine gold thread.The snowflake is cut from Sizzix Sizzlets 654370 Snowflakes Set from white glitter paper. Gold lettering, Merry Christmas is from Pop-Ups Etc   It is SO sparkly---but that sparkle doesn't show in the photo.

This card from the white Hammermill Card base is:

• Embossed with Perfect Polka Dots (Sizzix-Stampin Up)
• Green foil cut with scalloped circle die by Lifestyle Crafts
• Red scallop circle under a doily with the center cut out.
• The flourish is part of leaves and stem die  "Bella Rose" by Heartfelt Creations that coordinates with a stamp available at Joan's Gardens.
• See my post HERE  where I used the stamp and the whole flourish.
• The little leaves are from I Am Roses.com  
• The white flower is a combination of thuings.  Backing the flower is a parchment (Pergamano) stamped and worked with a stylus and four needle tool, then a punched dotted swiss petal that was loose in the craft bin, then built up petals from white mulberry paper.  
• Sentiment is from Pop-Ups Etc  Transparent glittered organza ribbon (run through the Xyron) finishes this card.  I took the picture before I rounded the corners--but they are rounded on the finished card.

This card was really fun to make.  The frame is the negative cutout on foil using Spellbinders Labels Seventeen, and the holly paper is diecut with same label. (Available at Joan's Gardens)  I punched little holly leaves in the corner and filled them with 3 D Galaxy Gloss by Tessler.  The sentiment is from Pop Ups Etc, and the stamp (with crystal glitter on the branches is from  Stampin Up "Lovely as a Tree" stampset.  The little flower is white mulberry paper and came from I Am Roses.com

Red-white and green, that's the theme for this week's challenge. This card is created on white cardstock embossed with Sizzix Textured Impressions "Square Lattice."  The center fold-n-tuck is cut with Spellbinders Shapeabilities  S5-114 cut from gold foil, with the back folds colored with red and green glitter pens.  The center medallion is a digistamp from Louby Lou Designs  by Wendy Hall.  Embossing folders and dies are available at Joan's gardens.

This card has hand stitched red metallic thread trim on a stitchable transparent sticker edged in silver available from Pop Ups Etc. The side holographic strips are also from PopUps Etc and the green matte is embossed and sanded Core-e-Ssentials paper embossed with Snowflake folder by Cuttlebug. The tree is decorated with Swarovski red crystals, and  holographic silver paper backs thegreen matte.  This card is EXQUISITE; the picture doesn't do it justice.
