Hibiscus Spirit

We are planning a vacation in Tahiti, and I looked up Tahitian Hibiscus hybrids so that I could color the Spirit of Hibiscus (by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff) for part of the cover of an upcoming album I plan to do for our Paul Gauguin  Cruise  The hibiscus are the Tahitian Lion and the Tahitian Solar Flare (or Tahitian Sunrise).  These are colored in Prismacolor pencils, finished with Marigold liquid pearls, and finished in Photoshop. Font is Jellyka  Delicious Cake.  This is just a start, but a fun one---what a gorgeous graphic.  Thank you Mitzi.  It is fun to participate in the Blog Challenges at  Aurora  Wings.

Here it is as a finished card.  The border scallops are Spellbinders Borderabilitiy S5-180, and the ribbons are double bow gold cord, some yellow petals a Hello Honey flat bow, and amber rhinestones adhered to Tangelo Twist paper I finished the bakground of the graphic  with pale Copic stippling.

Berrylicious by Miran

This delightful autumn card has Berrylicious by Miran as the penciled artpiece on it.  I could hardly wait for the backordered Spellbinder's dies to get here and they arrived today. The frame is sectioned from the Nestabilities Decorative Curved Square set (S4-525).  This die set is absolutely beautiful.   The card is backed with green SU Cucumber Crush mat, and the die is cut with the rich purple of SU Blackberry bliss.  The grapes and the border cuts are touched with Clear Star gellyroll pen.

Here is the negative space from the corners above, and another card---with Spellbinders Decorative Curved Square.  It is  SUCH a beautiful dieset. Stickers are from Pop Ups Etc

For a Birthday

This card was created for the double gate fold technique spotlight at Splitcoast Stampers this week.  I used double sided giraffe and alphabet DP from my stash, stickers from Pop Ups Etc, Hello Honey and Chocolate Chip accent papers, punches by SU, and a leaf stamp from Stampendous called Jumbo Leaves CRS5052 which was done trying out watercolor washes using Tim Holtz Distress markers and watercolor paint.  I personalized the leaf for the recipient.

Zuri Pumpkin Sprite Nerida

Nerida was drawn by Zuri Digital Stamps. The "just a note" sentiment is a Spellbinders die (S2-141).  Her pumpkin is filled with 3D crystal glaze, and the glaze also tops the sentiment on this card. The autumn paper was designed by Tracy Wray, other papers are by SU.

Kit and Clowder Create and Learn Sept 2015

The pencil Create and Learn Class featured one of the Mo Manning tots on a trike.  I chose the little "bye bye" girl with pigtails.  We were to build in a background and add trees to our project, and to put the trike on a path going into the picture.  We don't have big trees in the desert, so I geared my little girl on a trike going down a backroad near Snow Valley Utah where I took a picture of the odd pancake shaped sandstone rocks in the area.  I created Palm Trees, though there aren't any there--there are Joshua trees there, but I didn't think I could draw a Joshua tree.  The assignment is worked in Prismacolor pencils at "sketch" coverage, not a deep waxy finish.   This was fun, challenging and different to do.  I am not much "into" backgrounds for the artwork of others, but tips on color, perspective, and such was fun for this Create and Learn  Class.  Thank you Alyce for the fun lesson this month.

Shamrock Sprite by Sara Burrier

I am working on a calendar project and wanted a March/St. Patrick's Day card for it.  I found this adorable Shamrock  Pixie Gold by Sara Burrier and worked her in prismacolor pencils, Wink of Stella, 3D Crystal glaze, and a piece of lace, over a shamrock medallion.  The cardstock is brushed with Delicata ink.

Kits and papers are mostly by Snickerdoodle designs in her kits Lassie Brianna and Lassie Brian. The calendar project was a challenge at Digital Scrapbooking Studio.  Look there for other pages in my calendar for 2016.

Make a Wish---on a Mermaid's Kiss

This is a Sheri Baldi graphic--a cute Christmastime mermaid colored in Prismacolor pencils, finished with Wink of Stella, holographic sticker borders and sentiment, and Stickles glitter accents. The matting is  SU Mint Macaron on deckled edged commercial card base.

Sheri Baldi Snowman

This adorable little snowman and friends was drawn by Sheri Baldi.  It is finished in Wink of Stella, Snow Writer (Deco Arts),  Prismacolor Pencils, and stippling using distress, copic and SU markers.  The stippled background was inspired by the Backgrounds Technique Handbook that is available to subscribers at Kit and Clowder Monthly Create and Learn Class . Sheri seemed to have copied and pasted the little fairy onto the snowman, because you can also see her here in this cute graphic of hers.  I have used Night of Navy (SU) for the background, and a sentiment stamp from an old clear-stamp set called Noel (manufacturer unknown) and added black and clear rhinestones to the card.

For the Bees

Congratulations on your new home to the busy, busy Bees!

This card is multi media bigtime, mixing papers and pixels and Prismas! The main graphic is by  Tiddlyinks worked in Prismacolor pencils, the colored cluster graphic and one of the bees (also colored over with Prismas) is a Raspberry Road Design cluster from a Kit called Honey Bee created in Jan 2012 by Susan Darter and still available. The honeycomb paper is from my stash and several other bees I used on this card are from a Sticker King sticker package. (224172).  3D Crystal glaze finished the wings, black glaze pen (Sakura) finishes the bee's black stripes, and wink  of stella is found in the glittery circles that the little bee is steppng through.

This card has several graphics on it also.  From  Raspberry Road's Honey Bee and from the darling graphics of Wendy Hall at Digital Delights by Louby Lou---

And this last one is a bit of the Honey Bee Harry from Digital Delights, plus a  Sweet Magnolia Bee Tilda.   They are on stitched ricepaper and fussy cut after working them with prismacolor pencils.

Ching Chou Kuik_Wishing Star

This is another very pretty (new) graphic by Ching Chou Kuik called Wish Falling Star, Little Sweetie Mia  She is worked in Prismacolor pencils oval cut and edged with Delicata gold ink, and accented with tiny white paint dots.   The Night of Navy (SU) star die behind her is edged in holographic gold edged sticker borders (Pop Ups Etc) and embossed with the star EF from SU.  Behind the navy star is a pale blue textured paper that has been stamped in Night of Navy using the star stencil from SU.  Each star is touched with either Wink of Stella or gold stickles glitter, or 3Dglitter gloss.  Tiny light blue stars are punched from the  stars border punch from SU.  This is a 5 -1 /2 x 4 1/4 card, and this graphic should NOT be sized down this small for effective work with the delicate and perfect detail that Ching Chou has drawn into this stunning image.  I will work the card 5x7 and be much happier with the size and detail of the graphic itself.

Hallowee'n Pencillings and Projects

These cute little witches are drawn by Sherri Baldi and colored with pencils.

This graphic was drawn by Amy Brown, (retired) stickers are from Pop Ups Etc.

This graphic was drawn by Jade Dragonne (J. Dufort)  It is mounted inside two die cuts of Spellbinders Gold Labels 4.

This graphic was drawn by Art by Miran, mounted on paper created by Tracy Wray with Trick or Treat sentiment by Tracy Wray.  --a spider punch a thread of black and this sweet little Halloween Heather, colored with Prisma Pencils is ready to send.

This card front is made with witch graphic on a Pacific Northwestern  Sunset.  Font is Halloween Spider.  And the graphic is drawn by Hannah Lynn. The card is created in Photoshop

Pansy Goddess_Aurora Wings

This sweet little goddess is the artwork of Mitzi Sato-Wiuff. She's available in both Mitzi's Gardens and Goddesses Coloring book, and available as a digi.  I chose her as my prize graphic for my third place winner Wisteria Fairy in the FB album at Aurora Wings.  The symbolism of a pansy is "loving thoughts" and this card will go with loving thoughts to a friend.

Pansies have long been flowers of remembrance. Indeed, they have often been placed upon memorial markers and stones to honor and remember those who are no longer on the physical plane. They are also a symbol of togetherness and union, and perhaps this is why they are so appropriate for remembering those who have passed from our lives. Their beauty is the perfect testimony to the love we have shared with others in the past. Keep pansies around you when you wish to remember the fond memories and kindnesses of loved ones who have passed from this earth.

The details and credits for this card are:   She is a 4x5 card mounted on oyster deckle edged cardstock, colored entirely in Prismacolor Pencils.  The matting layer is Blackberry Bliss paper (SU) that is embossed with Tim Holtz Cirque (657847) embossing folder which has been then brushed with versa mark to bring up the embossing.  The corner group is a "reprint" of the graphic, sized down a little bit, and then fussy cut pansies and butterfly.  They are mounted over 2 diecuts of the small Les Papilloons by Spellbiers.(S4390). Pearls and 3D crystal glaze cover all the bubbles in the graphic and in the corner grouping.  Accents with Sakura Glaze pens and Wink of Stella, and a bit of Blackberry Bliss ribbon finish the project.  My favorite pansy is called the Black Prince.    But working a flower in a ton of black just would'n't work well for this delicate graphic., so I worked it in deep purples.  The orange pansies are variants of some of the pansies I have grown.

Another coloring of the Pansy Goddess.,  She's just gorgeous no matter the tones you choose!

Aurora Wings Mistletoe Fairy by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff

This stunning graphic called the Mistletoe Fairy can be purchased at  Aurora Wings.  She is part of the "big eyes" collection of fairies and goddesses drawn by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff.

I created a mistletoe paper in Photoshop and embossed it with Embossabilities polka dots for the bottom layer.   The matting layer is Green Gina K "Fresh Asparagus" paper, The artwork is popped up with craft foam and colored in  Prismacolor pencils.  The mistletoe berries are touched with 3d Crystal glaze so they are clear bubbles of berries.  I've also used SU epoxy bubbles in the corner and additional bubbles of 3d Crystal glaze there that do not show in the photo of this project.

A very happy accident on this one.  I was making my own "glue dots" and picked up the 3d Galaxy gloss instead of the Best Glue Ever or Tack it Over and Over (Aleens), dabbed on my "transfer paper" and let it dry.  When I went to use it as a glue dot, I discovered it had set up and bubbled perfectly and was all sizes.  WONDERFUL for the berries on the Mistletoe fairy--and wherever I want bubbles with more dimension than one coat of Crystal Glaze will give the image.  (Transfering them and adhering them was a little trickier--nice to have a picker upper (Embelli Jelli) for that!

Owl Spirit_ Aurora Wings

This is my newest MOST favorite penciling of Mitzi Sato-Wiuff (Aurora Wings) gorgeous, gorgeous fairy and fantasy graphics, Owl Spirit, colored entirely in Prismacolor pencils.  She can be found in Mitzi's shop on page 3 of her "big eyes" collection.  I have "beaded" her hair with with tiny white pearls (a white Uni-Posca pen).  I will probably frame and hang this one.  I love how it turned out.

The  wood and chrome frame I found (at Pier 1) for Owl Spirit just picks up her hair colors and makes the whole image POP
