General_ Fun Fold

This card was inspired by Lyssa Zwolnek tutorial for a fanfold accent on a card.  It is constructed with white cardstock, DP by SU, butterfly embosslits and butterfly thinlits also by SU and Mint Macaron inks.  Accents are with stickles pearls and Wink of Stella shimmer.

The inside sentiment stamp reads "Friends hold each other's hopes in their hearts" from Iris stampset by Memory Box.  On the reverse side when flipped out is Taylored Expressions stamp from Plot Twists that reads: "Do something today that your future self will thank you for."  There is no note yet, or greeting stamped inside the card itself, these are the sentments in the cardfront fanfold stack.

Plot Twist

This card was inspired by Linda Bedinger's tutorial on how to do a twist out fun fold card.  It was so much fun (and so fast) to make.  The Paper is SU designer paper which is worked in their Delightful Dijon inks  The flower and leaves are from the Wplus9  Modern Peonies stampset. embossed in gold EP and worked in watercolor pastels.  The "friends hold each other's hopes within their hearts" sentiment stamp is from Memory Box "Iris" stampset.  The pull open tab is created with the O from SU Occasioins Alphabet. " O is for ONE--of a kind--that's you".  The inside sentiment reads:  "When something goes wrong in your life, just yell "Plot Twist" and move on!"  The way this card twists to open just seemed to fit so perfectly with that fun sentiment of encouragement.  The tiny indicator arror is from Hero Arts Reveal Wheel dieset. Could have used a stamp, but the die seemed to move the eye to the pull tab.

Here the card is beginning to twist open

When fully open the front artwork it twisted to reveal the inside message

Shore Do Miss Ya

For a friend--for this summer, this is the Hero Arts Beach Frame with elements from Seas the Day (Gull) stampset.  The background is created in distress and distress oxide inks, and vellum clouds.  The beach frame die is cut with photo paper, and the little shells are on oyster with "blushing bride" ink stamped detail.  Ideas for next time are window frame with inked detail on the fence and shrubbery and the sand in the die with message inside.  This die and stamp combination has limitless possibilities.

Lawn Fawn's Reveal Wheel Fun

Playing with the new "reveal wheel" by Lawn Fawn is really fun---and just SO many things can be done with the idea.  I made two cards this morning, ---such fun.  The top one was made for DD on the occasion of the  FIRST ANNIVERSARY of the opening of her new Beauty Salon and Day Spa  "Elite Images" in Palm Desert California a YEAR AGO TODAY.

This card also uses stamps from Honey Bee's " Angel Policy stampset.  The bow in the card below is from a Dieset given me by a friend and I don't know whose product it is---part of a Cancer Hope collection of stamps and dies in my stash. The flowers are from SSS and are part of the spring flowers collection. Sequins, glitter pens and stickles gold complete the card which is based on Mint Macaron (SU) and Cracked Pistachio Distress oxide with an AlteNew half-tone Stencil, below and tempting turquoise and watercolor crayons above.

Farewell and Thank you to Pastor Rick and Jan Casebolt

It is a bittersweet goodbye to our beloved Pastor Rick Casebolt and his wife Jan, as they continue their ministry at the Gilbert United Methodist Church in Gilbert Arizona.  It has been a fabulous six years for the Congregation and friends of Mesquite Methodist Church, and we wish them great and wonderful things  in their future home and with their new Church.

The text on the front of Pastor Rick's Card reads:
With Warm Thanks Pastor Rick Casebolt
For all you've done in the Lord's service to
Mesquite United Methodist Church
You have made yourself available for all of God's
people with such compassion and understanding.
You are indeed a reflection of God's love and
we want you to know how very much we appreciate you.
May you be richly blessed for everything that you have done,
and in everything that you do
and in everthing that you will do
in Gods' name

"Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works and give
glory to your Father who is in Heaven."
Matthew 5:16

The front of the card is a photograph I took of the area right around our Church.

The personal inside text reads
Thank you:  For the countless times you have stretched
out your hands to those in need
Thank you: For the early Sunday mornings
and many hours in preparing great sermons.
Thank You: For the thousands of prayers you have prayed
for our  Congregation and for others.
Thank You: For the time spent out of church to help those in need or
who needed a friend.
Thank You: For not judging people and always embracing everyone with open arms

The Card for Jan is a single sided photo card and reads

"He will not forget your work"   Hebrews 6:10

When we thank  God for our pastor,
we must give Him thanks for two.
For when your husband came to us,
God also sent us you.

Your presence has blessed all of us
who knew you from day to day.
As our pastor's wife, you, too,
are serving God
in fine and wonderful ways.

With warm THANKS to you, Jan
and best wishes to you
as you serve your new Church in Gilbert.
We will miss you at MUMC
and pray for all things great and wonderful
in the days that lie ahead.

Goodbye to a sweet old Lady

Our friends just lost their little Lady who was 13 years old.  Such a special and wonderful part of their lives.  She will be missed always. This pet-sympathy card was created with elements from the digital scrapbooking kit "Dog Lover" from Raspberry Road Design, with the sympathy sentiment created by TLC Creations. The inside sentiment is the Rainbow Bridge sentiment with rainbows created by Karen Schulz.

For the Bride and Groom

I made this card for the upcoming wedding of friends using Sizzix Hearts (657561) and SU Bloomin Hearts Thinlits (140621).   I used white shimmer paper that I embossed and whisper white that I overlaid for the background piece.  The groom's shirt is smoky slate and enamel dots with a 1/8" satin "tie"--brides is white photo paper, blushing bride glitter paper and patterned white vellum for the neck cutout  The Congratulations Sentiment is by Avery Elly triple-stacked. Pearls, a touch of 3D crystal glaze, and wink of stella accents finish the card.
