The Laymans Commandments

Text Reads:
Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout the journey.

So why is a Car's Windshield so large & the RearView Mirror so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, Look Ahead and Move on.

Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes a few minutes to burn, but it takes years to write.

All things in life are temporary. If going well, enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong, don't worry, they can't last long either.

Old Friends are Gold! New Friends are Diamond! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a Base of Gold!

Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end!”

When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.

A blind person asked St. Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision!"

When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them, and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.

WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES, it takes away today's PEACE.

This layout is created with Snickerdoodle Designs by Karen's "Spring Spirit" and "Friends Forever" kits.  Edged in Starform border line stickers and matted on black.

Quick Thank You

These cards are simply SU designer paper and black and white cardstock. The Sentiment is a Die by Impression Obsession (#235-M) and the dragonfly is Technique Tuesday's.  Both cards are enhanced with diamond Stickles.  I needed two very quick cards today---but these MAY get colored with Prismacolor Pencils before I mail them.  They are striking in black and white, but a touch of color would be gorgeous also.

Nice colored too.   With sequins and Crystal Glaze and Prismacolor Pencil work.

This card below was colored with Chameleon pens and accented with Posca white and green Wink Of Stella.  The artpiece is bordered with black line stickers from popupsetc.

Easter Lily Sprite_Aurora Wings

The Easter Lily Sprite

The beautiful Easter Lily has long stood as a symbol of purity, elegance, beauty, hope, innocence and spirituality, and peace.  It is sometimes called the Trumpet Lily, or the  Bermuda Lily.  It is a Biblical flower commonly associated with the resurrection of Christ.
This card was made for the pastels challenge #47 at  Aurora  Wings Challenge Blog

The legend, told  below, comes from dgreetings.com

"This importance rests even more clearly on a legend that the blood of Jesus, as it fell from the cross, was by a miracle transformed into flowers which filled heaven and earth. The popular Easter lily we use today to celebrate the holiday is referred to as ‘the white-robed apostles of hope.’ These beautiful trumpet shaped white flowers were brought to the United States in 1875 from Japan by an American tourist and named after the florist who made it popular. The flower retells the resurrection story with its life cycle. These snow white flowers symbolize new life and hope.

The bulb of these flowers buried in the ground represents the tomb of Jesus and the glorious white trumpet-like fragrant flowers which grow from the bulbs symbolize His life after death. The snowy white color stands for the purity of the Divine Savior and the joy of the resurrection while the trumpet shape signifies Gabriel's trumpet call to rebirth and new life."

I love the triple pocket card for tucking in fairy wishes and little sayings about magical moments. This is monochromatic in black and shades of gray, with the base card DP marble paper from SU.

Stamped Embossing

This card is quite different because it embosses over a stamped image with the die that would cut it out.  I used  Botanical Garden dies and stamps from SU in Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride and three of the SU greens.  The sentiment is embossed in green embossing powder over Blushing Bride paper and comes from the stampset "Sentimental" by Avery Elle
