Aurora Wings Cactus Sprite

This little Cactus Sprite is created for the Aurora  Wings Challenge # 27  "Say it with Flowers." It is colored with Prismacolor Pencils, then accented rhinestones,  and with Gelly Roll Clear Star detail and "Summer" Flower Soft accenting the blossoms.  The edges of the photo mat, picture of a real cactus flower are trimmed with a black line sticker. The mat behind that is Stampin Up, Watermelon Wonder paper, on bone cardstock.  Black braid that I edged in Flower Soft is across the bottom of the card.  The sentiment on this card is photoshopped into the blog post, because I haven't decided what sentiment stamp or sticker I am going to ultimately want on that 5x7 card.  I live in the desert and know that this little sprite will see many applications.    Some of my other Cactus Flower photos are in a Flickr Album

Happy 73rd---with Mermaid Kisses and Wishes

I love the Mermaid with the secret in her bottle...so much so I made a VERY special card with her again--this time 5x7.  .  She is colored in Prismacolor pencils and finished with a Stickles, rhinestones and 3D Crystal Glaze.  The graphic background is Copic BG10.  The first mat is Rich Razzleberry (SU) popped up over heavily textured gold handmade paper. That is over gold heart embossed vellum paper, which shows through to"Soft Sky" paper that has been run through the dotted Embossabilities folder with my Craftwell..  Seashells and Martha Stewart "fir" punch embellish the circular sentiment and the "netting" is actually a cut from my Glitter clean up cloth . Inside the bottle is written "Happy 73rd Birthday Donna."  This special card will be given to her when she is on a Celebratory 73rd Birthday Panama Canal Cruise next month.

Happy First Birthday to a GREAT-- GREAT Grandaughter

This little sweet one year old was drawn by Sylvia Zet of Wee Stamps and is colored in Prismacolor Pencils.   The Birthday sentiment is embossed in sparkle EP and a "doily" die back was used to cut out the image. The Background EF is by Tim Holtz and is one of his fading backgrounds.

 The inside greeting says
Have a ONE-der-FULL birthday

Rose Garden

I love the possibilities with Rose Garden dies.  This card uses the largest rose cluster cutout over textured "woodrose" paper.  The EF is an Embossibilities folder that is one side woodgrain and the other bricks.    Used with my Ebosser electric Machine by Craftwell. The hello sentiment is diecut
from Avery Elle's "sentimental" dieset.  Gelly Roll "Silver star" outlines the petals of this 5x7 notecard.  .

This is the same set of dies, but with a landscape orientation for the card.  The rose is brushed with Wink of Stella---and the Wink of Stella really BLOBBED on my background---Happy Accident turned those into a Wink of Stella wash over the textured paper!  The ombre paper for the backing of the rose was created in Photoshop and just the rose is glimmered with Wink of Stella.

Envelope Card

I created this fun Envelope Fold Card following the tutorial by Melissa Banbury at Splitcoast Stampers.  I used natural cardstock for the base, a rich brown  for the frame, and designer paper I made in Photoshop for the background pieces and the  diecuts for the card.  The inside rose is created with the negative pieces from the Rose Garden framelits from SU.  The butterfly is a Spellbinders Les Papillions diecut.  The diecut shapes for the smaller rose and leaves, the sentiment back are all parts of the  Rose Garden set.  The sentiment stamp is from Large Fancy Sentiments by Just Rite Stamps.

Circles and Sentiments

Sandi Mac Iver designed a card today for a blog hop to support Autism; her abstract card was just beautiful, and I took the ideas of the punched out circles, color washes, and flowers from Botanical Blooms dieset.  The little dots are from  Timeless textures spritzed and sponged to fade and bleed. Dp is by SU (Wildflower Fields), and teeny tiny "lovely little labels" sentiment "love" will be popped up with whatever sentiment this card ends up with (also Round array sentiment punch would fit well into that smallest window.)  Thanks Sandi for a VERY different idea today. Soft Sky, Old Olive, and Blackberry bliss are the principal colors in this and the top art piece is embossed with a Tim Holtz abstract EF.

To Thank Dr. Parry

I created this card to thank our Orthopedic Surgeon Dr.  Todd Parry, who did a total reverse shoulder replacement for Roger last Wednesday.  The surgery team and care at Dixie  Regional Hospital in St. George was absolutely wonderful.  For all your compassion, encouragement,  for your incredible skill, for your delightful personality and for your thoughtfulness--we thank you, Dr.  Todd.

This card is created with  SU  Blackberry Bliss, and coordinating DP.  The flowers are punched from various colors, heat embossed Million and One stamp (SU) is the sentiment, and the butterfly (and scalloped edge cut) are Spellbinder's products.  Les Papillons 2 and Borderabilities.
