At Joan's Gardens Week #43 Challenge

The challenge this week is to wrap a box or a canister   I wrapped several canisters of Hot Chocolate mix using Snickerdoodle Designs by Karen's kit Ginger Magic. (retiring soon).  The Top ornaments are Spellbinder's  Shapeabilities cut fold and tuck geometrics S5-114 available At Joan's Gardens.  I also made a topper out of Geo-Dies GD-8 available from Pop-Ups Etc.  I topped the paper pieced fussycut gingerbread man  and tuck and folded tops with glimmermist which gave the gingerbreadmen a sugared look as it dried into standard creme cardstock. (I am TOTALLY out of photopaper! --so making do with these last few can wraps, with a more matted softer look than photopaper returns.)

At Joan's Gardens Week 43 Challenge

A friend showed me how to fold and create a box bottom and box top today out of any size square of paper, and so I made a llittle box for this challenge.  I printed the flower topper on photopaper, That was a project  in the December Papers and Pixels Magazine contributed by Tracy Wray (a paper Piecing project).  The glimmermisted white flourish die is Spellbinders Fantastic Flourish 1 purchased at At Joan's Gardens

At Joan's Gardens Challenge #43

This is a little gift box I made.  It has a handcut lid and uses papers created in Photoshop.  The top ornament is a graphic designed by Karen Schulz found in her kit "All Wrapped Up".   Dies for creating boxes are available from At Joan's Gardens. The one I have is Sizzix Bigz Pro Die-Box with Scallop Lid. I didn't want the scalloped edge on this one. Other companies make box dies, too, a cute 4 inch pizza box die is manufactured by Lifestyle Crafts.

At Joans Garden Week #44

The Challenge this week is simply to decorate a box or a container that can be given as a Christmas Gift.  This is a picture of my box-topper.  It is a Chevron Pattern that is created with Nutcracker Sweet  Collection papers by Graphic 45, available At Joan's Gardens.  The chevrons square is created following a tutorial by Jill Olsen presented in the December 2012 Papers and Pixels Magazine (page 67) that is released on December 15th..  I used spellbinders Lacy Squares Die (available from At Joan's Gardens) and an embossing folder "lattice" by Sizzix for Stampin Up for this topper.  The Merry Christmas sentiment is a SU stamp in Wasabi green ink (also SU). I brushed over the whole thing with 3D glaze.

At Joans Gardens Week Challenge Week 43

For this card I used a deboss technique.  The embossing is folder from Stampin Up.   I filled the snowflakes it made with one of the 3D crystal laqcuers on the market now, giving them a very glossy porcelain 3D effect. When that was dry I brushed Ranger's Diamond Stickles over the centers of the snowflakes.  The oval sentiment is on holographic paper, and created in Photoshop to match the soft turquoise-y blues in this card. The Stickles glitter glue,  3D Crystal Lacquer & Spellbinders Oval  Dies are available from Joan's Gardens.

At Joan's Gardens Tags

OH!  The possibilities with this kind of wonky-fun Layered Christmas Tree Die by  Sizzix ( 657249) available at Joan's Gardens.  Choosing just the right papers will make all the difference in how this tree comes out.  I stamped the solid green-shimmer paper with Stampin Up's Evergreen stamp and added rhinestones and little pearls on the ornaments the die cuts out for you.  The tag itself is ivory in color and lightly sponged with both Antique Linen and Forest Moss Distressing Inks by Tim Holz, also available at Joan's gardens.  Fun Project--THANK YOU JOAN!

So after I finished the Tag for the  Challenge, I played for the first time with the E-Bosser Dotted Elegance embossing folder that I got from Joan together with the amazing and fun electric E-bossing Machine. It is a perfectly gorgeous embossing result, this time on ivory resume papaer, mounted on ivory cardstock.

The gold sentiment is from PopUps Etc.

Napkin Fold Card

This 6x6inch card is made following various tutorials for the napkin fold, created from designer paper and one 12x12 inch piece of cardstock.  The center is created from the adorable figures and papers from Karen Schulz "Holiday Hoopla" kit sold HERE.
